We’re thrilled to be expanding our Specialized Help offerings with local blind associations from around the world, giving blind and low-vision access to localized support in their native language. Two new local organizations are joining Be My Eyes: InfoTech for Visually Impaired in India, and the UICI in Italy.
InfoTech for Visually Impaired, or ITVI, offers classes for blind and low-vision people in India and Pakistan. Classes vary from math and computer skills to English language courses — there’s a lot to learn but ITVI is ready to make your education more accessible! If you need any help with ITVI’s services, the team is ready to assist you in English, Hindi or Urdu Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm IST. ITVI is available through Be My Eyes for blind and low-vision users in India and Pakistan and is launching on July 6th!
For more than 100 years, UICI has been working in Italy to educate, support and assist over 2,000,000 people with visual impairment. Blind and low-vision users in Italy, can now easily connect with UICI through Be My Eyes to get assistance with UICI services or to get an answer to their blindness related questions. Support is available in Italian Monday through Friday 4pm to 8pm CET. UICI is available through Be My Eyes now!
ITVI and UICI join other blind associations and disability rights organizations such as NFB, ACB, Lighthouse San Francisco and The Carroll Center in the US, RNIB and Galloway’s in the UK, and the Paralympic Committee of Brazil as Specialized Help partners. The network of blind associations from all over the world, offering a connection through Be My Eyes is quickly expanding. We look forward to welcoming even more companies and organizations to make them easily accessible for our blind and low-vision users.
