Be My AI, the  first-of-its-kind digital visual assistant powered by GPT-4, was mentioned amongst the Time Best Invention of 2023 thanks to the collaboration between Be My Eyes and OpenAI. The annual list features the most groundbreaking inventions, including new products and ideas, that TIME editors have identified as “life changing”.

This acknowledgment comes after a week from Be My Eyes’ celebrations for officially reaching 1,000,000 chats on Be My AI. As of today, over 5,500 blind people are accessing Be My AI every day, asking over 30,000+ questions daily to the AI-powered tool. 

“The new feature of having an AI assistant, specifically Be My AI, has truly been a game-changer for me. It allows me to experience the world in a whole new way by providing detailed descriptions of various things,” says Malak, who has been beta testing Be My AI since March. “Thanks to Be My AI, I now have the ability to enjoy visual experiences and share moments in ways that were once unimaginable. Be My AI is currently available for all Be My Eyes users on iOS. We have already started closed beta testing Be My AI for Android devices and our goal is to move it to broadly-available open beta status in the coming months. It is already possible to sign up on the waitlist for Android beta testing in the Be My Eyes app.
